Anticipated Impact of New Developments on Our Village

As you may have noticed, our village is on the brink of significant change due to various planning permissions that have been granted and are currently under consideration. This upcoming construction activity is expected to bring about a notable transformation to our area over the next several months and years.

Current and Future Developments

Currently, our village is home to approximately 252 houses and 239 apartments. With the new planning applications that have been submitted, if all are granted and subsequently built, we can expect an addition of around 240 units. This increase would result in a 50% growth in the number of housing units within our community.

Impact on Village Infrastructure

This substantial influx of new homes will undoubtedly place additional demands on our village’s infrastructure. We foresee potential impacts on various aspects such as traffic, public services, utilities, and community amenities. It is crucial that our village infrastructure is capable of supporting this significant growth to maintain the quality of life for all residents.

Committee’s Actions and Advocacy

The development levies charged by the DCC are effectively utilised to enhance our village infrastructure. These levies, paid by developers as part of the planning process, can be instrumental in funding necessary improvements to roads, public transportation, green spaces, and other vital community facilities.
